Spanning 6,980 yards with five challenging par-five holes, this course is a true test for even the longest hitters. Designed by Fred W. Hawtree in 1973, he praised Westport, stating, “the nature of the terrain, part inland and part seaside, the panorama which it commands and its considerable golfing virtues, make it uniquely attractive and memorable. ” Hole by HolePitch & Putt CourseWestport GC Pitch and Putt is a 9 hole par 3 course, open every day from dawn till dusk, and nicely embedded into the landscape of Westport Golf Course. All ages and abilities, be it beginners or experts, juveniles or adults, are invited to test their golfing skills on the course, which is prepared to a very high standard. ABOUT OUR Practice Facilities Time To PracticeFLOODLIT DRIVING RANGEOur driving range consists of nine covered bays, providing a dedicated practice facility that can be used throughout the year. The range has been recognised by Junior Golf Ireland as a quality training outlet, with the Connacht girls’ panel utilising Westport as a regional training base. Time To PracticeCHIPPING & PUTTING GREENSCompetitors at championships here at Westport over the years have praised the proximity of the practice areas to the first tee. To the left of the driving range there is a double bunkered chipping green with two unique pin positions. Winter practice is no problem as the driving range floodlight facilities are second to none. Over the years this area has been developed to best simulate the course type and conditions at Westport. We have an undulating putting green with 6 holes, cut to the same speed as the regulation greens, for the convenience of members and visitors.
